ROLLS ROYCE: Its new model Mist means "Animal Feces" in German.

TOYOTA: The Fiera model is used in Puerto Rico to mean "ugly old woman."

Umbro: The shoe named Zyklon is the same name as the gas used during World War II.

HARLEM SAVINGS BANK OF NEW YORK: The company expanded, opening branches both in Harlem and outside New York. When they realized they had made a mistake in naming, they changed the name of the bank to Apple Bank with an additional $10 million in costs.

FAKİR: The German industrial and home cleaning machines brand "FAKİR" means "poor" in Turkish.

There are also examples of big companies that later corrected their names. Some of them are listed below.

General Motors, which owned the "Nova" car with a name meaning "star" in English, wanted to use the same name in Latin America. However, in Spanish, "No va" means "does not go, does not work."

Coca Cola changed its product "Coca Cola Diet" to "Coca Cola Light" in markets other than America because the word "Diet" reminded people of an illness in Italian and German.

The Mars company in England spent years thinking about changing the name of their product "Marathon" to Snickers because the word "knickers" sounds similar and means "women's underwear."

The famous French drink Perrier, named Pschitt, sounds off-putting in English.

Considering the use of colors in label design globally, there are important local and international understandings to pay attention to. For example, the color white is associated with death in Japan, while green is highly favored in Saudi Arabia.
